Isuzu MU-X 2015 Review, Price

Less of an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and more of an off-roader, the Isuzu MU-X 2015 is a state of the art four wheel drive machine made to live off-road. Based on its cousin, D-MAX, this MU-X has certainly been a revelation for off roaders and is giving tough competition to the SUVs in market.

Isuzu MU-X 2015 comes with standard 16 inch amalgam wheels, colour coded mirrors and gunmetal ash colour grille up in front. Optional 17 inch wheels are also available. A bold stance of this car is emphasized by its wedge shaped façade and flared wheel arches. The car’s profile gives an idea of how much good it can be in tackling off road conditions or towing heavy goods as well as be fit for everyday use.

There are three rows of seats inside this Isuzu MU-X, in a theatre like formation, which can accommodate as many as seven adult persons very comfortably. It has a six speaker sound system with iPod integration and Bluetooth connectivity. The highest variant houses a 10 inch screen for entertaining the rear seat passengers. The back row can be folded in a 60-40 split to accommodate more cargo.

Security features on Isuzu MU-X includes ABS, electronic brake force appropriation, crisis brake support and all four wheels having circular brakes. Only difference being front wheel having 300mm ventilated front with twin piston cylinder callipers and rear wheel having 318mm robust back with single piston cylinder. All the variants have six airbags as standard, including drape, side and double front airbags. Reversing camera and parking assistant is available on some models.

Under the bonnet of Isuzu MU-X 2015 there is a 3.0 litre Isuzu 4JJ1-TC Hi-Power turbocharged diesel engine with four cylinders. This engine can reach a maximum torque of 380 newton metres at a peak 1800 rpm and maximum power of 130 kilowatts at a peak of 3600 rpm.

This engine is paired with either a five speed automatic or a five speed manual transmission, both having a sequential sports mode which is electronically controlled by means of an adaptive learning facility which keeps track of driver’s braking and throttling patterns and thereby selecting the most suitable gear. All the variants of the MU-X operate on Isuzu’s very own easy to use Terrain Command 4WD select dials, fitted on the centre console.

The immense engine of the Isuzu MU-X 2015 has a good figure of fuel consumption which stands at 8.4 litres per 100 kilometres. CO2 consumption level of this engine stands at 223 grams per kilometres. Both the fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures are ADR combined.
